NEIST Recruitment 2021: CSIR – North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, a constituent establishment of CSIR, is a multidisciplinary institute having research areas like Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Materials Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Geological Sciences, etc
NEIST invites applications from intending eligible candidates to fill 06 vacant posts of Project Associate, Sr Project Associate, Project Associate-I & II etc for multiple specializations on a purely temporary basis for a specific period.
1. Project Associate-I
Project Title: Development of Hybrid Battery Power Module with Indigenously Developed Supercapacitor and Li-on Cell.
Project Period: Up to 16-01- 2022
No. of posts: 01
Salary: Rs. 31,000/- for GATE and Rs.25,000/- per month for others (+ 8% HRA)
Essential Qualification: BE / B Tech in Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation / Computer Science Engineering.
Desirable: Experience in the field of design, fabrication and testing of BMS in e-vehicle and supercapacitor Li-ion hybrid batteries.
Age Limit: Max 35 yrs
2. Project Associate-I
Project Title: Advanced Hybrid Nanomaterials and Their Photocatalytic Efficiency Towards Solar Fuel Generation through CO2 Reduction: A Quantum Chemical Exploration.
Project Period: Up to 25-11- 2022

Salary: Rs. 25,000/-
Essential Qualification: M Sc in Chemistry (Physical / Inorganic / Organic).
Age Limit: Max 35 yrs
3. Sr Project Associate
Project Title: Varietal Development for High Fruit Yield and High Solasodine Content of Solanum khasianum, A High-Value Medicinal Plant of NE India.
Project Period: Up to 16-08- 2022
No. of posts: 01
Salary: Rs. 42,000/- (+ 8% HRA)
Essential Qualification: PhD in Agricultural Sciences / Botany / Biotechnology / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Agronomy, OR M Sc in Botany / Biotechnology / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Agronomy M Sc in Botany / Biotechnology / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Agronomy with a minimum of 4 years of R&D experience in the area of Medicinal & Aromatic plants.
Age Limit: Max 40 yrs
4. Sr Project Associate
Project Title: Varietal Development for High Fruit Yield and High Solasodine Content of Solanum khasianum, A High-Value Medicinal Plant of NE India.
Project Period: Up to 16-08- 2022
No. of posts: 01
Salary: Rs. 42,000/- (+ 8% HRA)
Essential Qualification: PhD in Physics / Chemistry / Life Science with experience in Computational Modelling or In-silico Studies.
Desirable: Knowledge in database development, Al and ML, Programming and Software Development.
Age Limit: Max 40 yrs
5. Project Associate-I/Project Associate-II
Project Title: Demonstration and Captive Cultivation of High-Value Medicinal Plant Through Farmer Participatory Programme in Northeast India.
Project Period: Up to 02-04- 2024
No. of posts: 01
Salary: Rs.25,000/- per month and 28,000/- for candidate having 2 years experience in the area of Medicinal and Aromatic plants (+ 8% HRA)
Essential Qualification: M Sc in Botany / Biotechnology / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Agronomy.
Desirable: A experience of minimum of 2 years in the area of Medicinal & Aromatic plants.
6. Project Associate-I
Project Title: Genome Editing for Crop Improvement (GE-Crop)
Project Period: Up to 31-03- 2023
No. of posts: 01
Salary: Rs. 31,000/- for NET/GATE and Rs.25,000/- per month for others (+ 8% HRA)
Essential Qualification: 1 st class M Sc in Agricultural Biotechnology / Biotechnology with knowledge of Molecular Biology.
Note:
- Duration: The project completion date may be extended depending upon the grant of the funding agency.
- During selection, due weightage will be given to the academic performance of the candidates. The candidates should have knowledge of the computer for day to day work.
Selection Procedure for NEIST Recruitment 2021:
The selection of the candidate will be based on Shortlisting followed by an Interview.
The interview will be conducted in exclusive online mode and the link of the interview on the MS-Team platform will be shared. Candidates are requested to download MS-Team App in Mobile or MS-Team software on a computer, beforehand.
Note: The Shortlisted candidates and the time slot for the interview will be notified only on the institute website. Candidates are requested to frequently browse the institute website for all updates.
