
NEET Exam 2023: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is an all-India pre-medical entrance test for students who wish to pursue admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions in India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) usually conducts NEET-UG Exam once a year for admission into different undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH (BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in government and private institutions in India.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) invites Online Applications from intending eligible candidates for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test {NEET (UG)} 2023 for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions in India.
NEET (UG) 2023 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Undergraduate Medical Courses refer to MBBS/ BDS/ Dental/ BAMS/ BSMS/ BUMS/ BHMS Courses.
The NEET (UG) 2023 shall consist of one Question Paper containing 200 Multiple Choice Questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).
Mode of Examination: Pen & Paper-based Test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen.
Duration of Test: The duration of the test would be three (03) hours and 20 minutes.
Distribution of Questions for NEET Exam 2023:
- Physics: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
- Chemistry: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
- Zoology: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
- Botany: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
Total Marks: 720
Note: The question paper will be on MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions). The correct option marked will be given (4) marks and the Incorrect option marked will be minus one (-1) mark. Unattempted/ Unanswered Questions will be given no marks.
Medium of Question Paper and Examination Centres for NEET Exam 2023:
Drawing from the National Education Policy (NEP), the NEET (UG) -2023 is being conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Candidates can opt for a Question Paper in any one of the following 13 languages.
Eligibility Criteria for NEET Exam 2023:
Nationality: Indian, NRI, OCI, Foreign Nationals
Age Limit: Candidates have to complete 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
Accordingly, the lower age limit shall be born on or before 31.12.2006.
Upper age limit: As per Letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB, dated 09 March 2022 received from National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age limit.
Educational Qualifications:
The candidate shall have passed Class 12 or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and shall have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the case of general category and 40% Marks in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.

State/Union Territory Wise List of Examination Cities:
While filling up the Online Application Form, candidates should select two Convenient Cities as their Choice Cities for the exam Centre in order of their priority.
For convenience, the candidates may select their own city or neighbouring cities in their State of Residence only and not for far away cities in other States. NTA will not be responsible for any inconvenience due to the incorrect selection of cities by the candidates.

Applying Procedure NEET Exam 2023:
Candidates can apply for NEET (UG) – 2023 through the “Online” mode only through the website https://neet.nta.nic.in/ or can directly “Apply Online” from the link below. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
Note: Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or Parents/Guardians only as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.

Payment Mode: Online. The fee can be submitted online only through Net Banking, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and UPI. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator.
