NEET Exam 2021: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is an all India pre-medical entrance test for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in government and private institutions in India and also, for those intending to pursue primary medical qualification abroad.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) invites Online Applications from intending eligible candidates for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test {NEET (UG)} 2021 for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions in India.

NEET (UG) 2021 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Name of the Examination: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG)

Undergraduate Medical Courses refer to MBBS/ BDS/ Dental/ BAMS/ BSMS/ BUMS/ BHMS Courses.

The NEET (UG) 2021 shall consist of one Question Paper containing 180 Multiple Choice Questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

Mode of Examination: Pen & Paper-based Test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen.

Duration of Test: The duration of the test would be three (03) hours.

Distribution of Questions for NEET Exam 2021:

  • Physics: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
  • Chemistry: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
  • Zoology: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
  • Botany: Section A – 35, Section B – 15
Total Marks: 720

Note: Question paper will be on MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions). Correct option marked will be given (4) marks and Incorrect option marked will be minus one (-1) mark. Unattempted/ Unanswered Questions will be given no marks.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET Exam 2021:

Nationality: Indian, NRI, OCI, Foreign Nationals

Age Limit: 17 to 25 years as of the date of examination with an upper age relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwBD Candidates.

Educational Qualifications:

Provided further that the students who have received education abroad and wish to seek admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology, and English with 50% marks in class 12 and their equivalency determined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

Applying Procedure:

In order to ensure that the candidate data is submitted fast, the Application Form for NEET (UG) – 2021 has been divided into Two Sets/Phases.

  • The first set of information needs to be filled up before the last date of submission of the Application Form online.
  • The second set of information needs to be filled up by the candidates before the declaration of the Result/ downloading of Score Card during the period that would be notified separately through NEET (UG) Portal in due course.

All candidates shall fill up each set of information on the Application Form at the respective time of availability. In the absence of filling up any of the set of information, his/her candidature will be canceled.

  • Starting date for submission of online application:13 July 2021
  • Last date for submission of online application: 6 August 2021 (up to 11:50 PM)
  • Last date of successful transaction of fee through Credit/Debit Card/NetBanking/UPI / Paytm Wallet: 7 August 2021 (up to 11:50 PM)
  • Correction in Particulars of Application Form on the website only: 8 August 2021 to 12 August 2021
  • Announcement of the City of Examination: 20 August 2021
  • Downloading of Admit Cards from NTA website: To be released 03 days before the Examination
  • Date of Examination: 12 September 2021 (Sunday)
  • Duration of Examination: 180 minutes (03 hours)
  • Timing of Examination: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (IST)
  • Centre, Date and Shift of NEET (UG) – 2021: As to be indicated in the Admit Card
  • Display of OMR Sheets/ Responses and Answer Keys to the Candidates: To be announced later on the website
