EPFO Recruitment 2023: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) invites online applications from intending eligible candidates for filling up 2859 vacant posts of Social Security Assistant and Stenographer. A candidate may apply for more than one post but will have to apply and pay the examination fee separately for each post.
1. Name of Post: Social Security Assistant (Group C)
No of posts: 2674 [UR: 999, EWS: 529, OBC-NCL: 514, ST: 273, SC: 359]
Pay Scale: Level-5 (Rs.29,200-92,300) in the Pay Matrix
Educational Qualification:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university as on the closing date for online registration of application.
- A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer. (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depression per Hour (KDPH) / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word for Data Entry Work. Time allowed – ten minutes.

- Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed Essential qualification SHOULD NOT APPLY.
- Recognized University means (i) a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or an Act of the State Legislature in India or (ii)an educational institute established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956).
2. Name of Post: Stenographer (Group C)
No of posts: 185 [UR: 74, EWS: 19, OBC-NCL: 50, ST: 14, SC: 28]
Pay Scale: Level-4 in the Pay Matrix [Rs.25,500-81,100 ]
Educational Qualification:
The candidate must be a 12th class pass from a recognized Board as on the closing date of the online application.
Skill Test in Stenography:
The candidates who are shortlisted in the Phase-I Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. The time allotted is as under:
- Dictation: Ten minutes at the rate of eighty words per minute. (Dictation will be computer-based)
- Transcription: Fifty minutes (English) / Sixty-five minutes (Hindi). (Only on a computer)
Note: Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed Essential qualification SHOULD NOT APPLY.
Age Limit:
Between 18 to 27 years as on the Closing Date of the Online Application form with Age relaxation as applicable.
Age Relaxation:
The upper age limit is relaxable upto:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC NCL: 3 years
Selection Procedure for EPFO Recruitment 2023:
For Social Security Assistant (Group C)
The recruitment process will consist of 2 stages:
- Stage- I: Computer-Based Examination (Phase-I)
- Stage II: Computer Typing Test (Phase-II) (Computer Data Entry Test)
For Stenography
The recruitment process will consist of 2 stages:
- Stage- I: Computer-Based Examination (Phase-I)
- Stage II: For shortlisted candidates only
Skill Test in Stenography (Phase-II):
The candidates who are shortlisted in the Phase-I Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. The time allotted is as under:
