Department of Energy Engineering is the first in-campus department of the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) started in 2016 with the objectives to develop technically competent human resource and environmentally benign sustainable technologies in the energy sector.
Assam Science and Technology University invites application for admission in B.Tech Lateral, M.Tech (Energy Engineering), MCA for the session 2020-21.

Courses Available:
B.Tech Lateral into 3rd Semester: through JLEE (Joint Lateral Entry Examination)
Eligibility:
(a) Recognized Diploma of Minimum 3 year’s duration from any Polytechnic Institution of Assam under State Council of Technical Education (SCTE)
(b) A minimum of Overall 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) must be scored in the Polytechnic Course.
(c) Candidate must be a Permanent resident of Assam.
Candidates appearing in their final examination may also apply but they must have to produce their Original Mark sheet along with Pass Certificate of the Final Diploma on the day of Admission.
MCA: through JMEE (Joint MCA Entrance Examination)
Eligibility:
(a) Age between 20 years to 26 years on 1st day of July 2020
(b) Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of Minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation. The candidates must pass Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at Graduation.
(c) A minimum of 50% marks must be scored in the Qualifying Degree examination (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category)
Candidates appearing in their final examination may also apply. Provisional admission shall be permitted provided that the student gives an undertaking that he/she shall be able to provide the final mark sheet/ certificate of qualifying examination within 2 months of taking admission failing which the admission of the students shall automatically stand canceled. Candidates seeking provisional admission shall have to clear all subjects up to the 5th Semester in degree level. These students will have to produce all mark sheets up to the 5th Semester for verification during Counseling.
Application Fee of JLEE/JMEE:
An Application Fee of Rs. 1000/- (One Thousand only) is to be paid online using “State Bank Collect” which facilitates payment through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Assam Science and Technology University shall not accept a hard copy of the Application and any other documents. The examination fee once paid, not refundable.

B. Issue of Admit Cards Online: AUGUST 18 2020 onwards till the day of examination
C. Date of Examination (JLEE/JMEE, 2020): AUGUST 23 (Sunday), Time: 11 am to 2 pm
D. Declaration of Result: On or before SEPTEMBER 1 2020.

M.Tech: through Gate Score and Entrance Examination
Subjects Available: Solar Energy, Bioenergy, Renewable, and Alternate Energy Technologies, Fuel Technology, Energy Conservation and Management, Fusion Energy, Energy Modeling & Simulation Study, Waste to Energy Conversion, Environment, and climate change study, etc.
Admission Procedure:
Eligible Candidates may apply either based on valid GATE score or through Assam Science and Technology University Entrance Examination (ASTUEE-2020).
Considering the pandemic situation prevailing in the country by the spread of COVID-19, Applications are invited only through email (to head.ee@astu.ac.in) from the eligible and suitable candidates in prescribed format along with supporting documents for admission in M.Tech (Energy Engineering) for the academic session 2020-21.
Application Fee:
The Application Fee is Rs. 500/-(Five Hundred only). However, this fee has been waived off (for the session 2020-21) for the students domicile from Assam as per the Government of Assam guidelines in relation to the situation arising out of COVID 19. Therefore, the students domicile from Assam need not pay any application fee for Admission in M.Tech (Energy Engineering) for the session 2020-21.
